Panelbeaters specialize in repairing and restoring vehicle bodywork, including metal, fiberglass, and plastic components. They also fabricate replacement panels when necessary.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Disassembly: Remove damaged panels, upholstery, and accessories to access repair areas.

  • Dent Repair: Restore body contours by hammering out dents and reshaping panels.

  • Structural Repair: Straighten frames and body sections using hydraulic and mechanical equipment.

  • Panel Replacement: Install new or salvaged panels to replace severely damaged sections.

  • Surface Preparation: Apply plastic filler, then file, grind, and sand surfaces for smooth finishing.

  • Welding & Fabrication: Cut, weld, and join replacement sections to match original bodywork.

  • Reassembly: Refit repaired or new panels and reinstall hardware (locks, trims, etc.).

 

Additional Duties (May Include):

  • Assisting in constructing or restoring custom, vintage, and specialty vehicles.

  • Performing spray-painting and refinishing work.
